This Week at Sport Science Lab

We have a star-studded cast working out at Sport Science Lab in San Juan Capistrano this week.

Dwight McLean is a safety from Purdue who's been here for about a month preparing for the NFL Combine. He's having a great time at Sport Science Lab.  When asked about any improvements he's noticed after working out at Sport Science Lab for a month, Dwight responded

I've got a lot more lean.  I've put on some weight. I've gotten a lot faster, definitely a lot quicker than when I first got here. I'm feeling better, and I feel like I can work out every day. I'm not as sore.  I'm more explosive, I feel good about my body right now. My vert when I got here was about 33.  Now its 37 or 38 [inches].  I was at a 4'6, now I'm down to a 4'4.

Will Blackmon is also back at Sport Science Lab, rehabbing an ACL tear and a severe bone bruise that he suffered in a Monday night game that many of us remember.

Mark Simoneau, NFL Linebacker formerly of the New Orleans Saints, just arrived at Sport Science Lab a week ago to rehab a tricep tear that made him miss the entire '09-'10 season and get his career back on track.  We're all rooting for him.

Coryn Rivera is a U.S. team cyclist who is trying to secure her spot on the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team. She has a major trial in Italy in August, and will be training at Sport Science Lab to prepare for it. Good luck Karin!

I'm also glad to hear of the success and wish the best of luck. But with a little research, I found that Dwight didn't improve his vertical. His vertical was 33 inches at the combine. Also, he didn't run a 4.4 40 yard dash NOR a 4.6, he ran a 4.7. He did well in the bench press though.

I'm curious if McLean honestly made that quote because by his numbers he didn't improve whilst at Sports Lab.

Excellently written article, if only all Lv bags
