College Athlete
College athletes have limited opening in their schedules so training properly is a priority. US colleges are dominated with conventional weightlifting and an obsession with maximal loading which has very limited effect on athleticism and brings a very high risk of injury. Most if not all college weight rooms are dominated in method by squats, power cleans and bench press as the indicators of improvement in athletic ability. I could not possibly disagree with anything more. The obsession with bulking up regardless of sport leads to a decrease in athleticism and an increase in injuries. Anyone that does not believe that has not been to rehab clinic lately or ignore the fact that there have been over 1 million injuries in weight rooms in the US in the last 20 years and that is just the documented ones. The many needs of a serious athlete far exceed the ability to move heavy weight in a linear fashion.
SSL offers a summer program dedicated to improving the athletic ability of any athlete in any sport while doing everything possible to prevent injuries. This system has proven to work at the highest levels of any sport at every level of competition. Christmas and spring break also offers opportunities for athletes to to fine tune their bodies. The Ballwork, Poolwork and Footwork programs can all be done on campus to help keep them feeling fresh and and avoid in season injury.
Improving running, jumping, lateral movement, hitting and throwing is a science combining not only the correct physical training system but also the correct biomechanics. There are very few training systems that offer both but SSL has extensive experience with this and a proven track record.
