Jump Two Three

When you are running your foot must be able to land relaxed so that in a very short period of time it can push back off. If your foot lands hard then it takes too much time to push off again. The energy is wasted pushing into the ground instead of pushing off the ground.

Re: Jump Two Three

I would like to know the same Bryan. It seems like a genious idea to use the supercat upside down in that manner! Especially if you believe in training in this philosophy. Training muscles in a quick firing manner helps train a proper muscle firing sequence. You're likely to use more muscle fibers and would develop less improper muscle compensation patterns. It also looks like it is plyometric in nature too. And that is a plus. I would think this would be a great tool for explosive hips, legs and feet. That is my opinion just by seeing it on video. I wish I could try it here in Indiana. I can't get to southern California.

Re: Jump Two Three

Has anyone trained with the resistance machines (Bear/Supercat) seen in some of the SSL videos? If so, please elaborate on your experience.

Re: Jump Two Three

Have you worked with the cones? Have the movements produced noticible results?

Re: Jump Two Three

There is snow on the ground here in Indiana so it has been hard to do conework lately. I actually did them today cause I was able to get into our church gym. It has been 5 weeks since I did them. This fall I was doing them often and I could tell I was moving over them quicker and with more ease and with more relaxation. I think that is key. I should have played basketball 5 weeks ago to tell you if I thought it was helping my lateral movement on the court. But I have not been playing lately (kids and wife at home). So I can't tell you any results other than I got a lot quicker doing the drills. I did feel much more agile at the time. I also felt like it was a great anaerobic leg workout. It also really got my heart rate going pretty good. So it was a good cardio workout too. And it is actually a fun workout too.

Re: Jump Two Three

How far apart do the cones need to be for these movements?
