Toe Grabs
Having strength in your feet is an important part of balance and creating power. Your big toe is the thumb of your foot. It's easy to strengthen, and you'll notice significant changes in your balance in about two weeks time.
Procedure:
Remove your shoes and socks. This exercise is done sitting. Place a towel flat on the ground extending away from you. Place your feet on the towel. With your big toes pull the towel towards you. Keep the image of crumpling a piece of paper in your mind. The only difference is that you're crumpling with your feet and not your hands. Keep bringing the towel closer and closer to you. Try and increase your speed and focus on grabbing the towel with your big toe. This is a lot harder than it looks!
Tips:
- You're trying to get your feet to act like a second set of hands
- Do this exercise while watching TV or reading
