Since many SSL subscribers are so via the internet, what textbooks does the staff recommend reading for individuals who want to adopt this training methodology for their athletes (i.e., coaches and trainers like myself).
Thanks,
J. Richardson

Re: Recommended Library
Thanks, Brian, and Jamaal for starting this thread!
Re: Recommended Library
Hey thanks Brian. I'll begin adding these texts to my library.

These may be helpful in starting a library:
Secrets of Russian Sports Fitness and Training - Michael Yessis, Ph.D.
Supertraining--Dr. Yuri Verkhoshansky-Revised Edition Now Available
SPECIAL STRENGTH TRAINING PRACTICAL MANUAL FOR COACHES-Dr. Yuri Verkhoshansky
Fundamentals of Special Strength Training in Sport-Verkhoshansky
Re: Recommended Library
Thanks Garth. I appreciate it.
Re: Recommended Library
Some of the links in the research library are obsolete. For instance, on page two the article "Training for Proprioception & Function Proprioceptive Movements" etc. doesn't actually lead to a specific article. Also, "Training Specificity- No Value in Weights" is an inoperable link. Furher, the article headed "What is Isokinetic Muscle Training?" also doesn't lead to an actual article. While the excerpts are valuable, I'm sure many subscribers would appreciate reading these studies in greater depth.
Re: Recommended Library
Aye Kyle no problem! I'm a stickler for knowing and the more information we have the better athletes/trainers we become.
Re: Recommended Library
Kyle , Im so grateful for all the info that everyone is sharing here, this is a great opportunity for us to share our knowledge and experiences.
Re: Recommended Library
For sure guys--we're lucky to have knowledgeable and constructive people like you two, Jamaal & Brian, and T, Brad, & Garth here in the SSL "community." Not only for the wealth of knowledge and experience you share with us all, but also for manner in which you do: where I come from, how you say things is just as important (if not more so) as what you say, and it's always a pleasure to hear and learn from trainers of your caliber--Mahalo for all the great input and advice!
Re: Recommended Library
Wow, I must have completely missed the "Research Library" tab. Thanks.
