Peaking and decrease of training.

Hi what does the SSL community do in regards to peaking for an event and not over training? I have a hockey tournament next weekend and i want to keep working out but i do not want to over train. I still want to do the sprints for my legs but i so not want to burn them out for the tournament. Any ideas would be helpful
Thanks,

sounds good thanks for the advice ya i plan to rest and recoup for the tourney, try to limit myself from max intensity until next weekend.
For the meanwhile i will do some FF and BBW just to keep the nervous system active.
Re: Peaking and decrease of training.
This is just my suggestion but I would limit your sprinting in the week before your event. I think it's fine to do some short pick-ups at about 65-70% once or twice during the week but nothing close to max. You want to stay sharp but not fatigue yourself. The hay is in the barn so to speak, now it's time to rest, stay loose, eat clean, etc. I would also recommend doing some ballwork, foundational footwork, a little jumprope, rowing, etc. a couple of times during the week to keep yourself tuned-up. Keep it light, quick and easy. Have a great tournament.

I have been training for a triathalon for the last 2 months and it is finally less then 2 weeks away. The event is on a saturday and I will be resting that thursday and friday only doing the footwork, light jump rope, and ball work on those days.
