ProBodX and ballistic ball workout

just got the ProBodX book by marv and dr. heus and it seems like there are more exercises in the book than in the BB like forward & backward bell lifts, elbows to ceiling, inchworm, open leg lifts, foot in & out...is it just that BB is a shorthand version of ProBodX? i'll try these exercises next time i do BB.

I also wanted to ask, what are some exercises that SSL does on the glute/ham machine? it seems like the forward & backward bell lifts and elbows to ceiling could be some. Can you add glute/ham machine exercises you do at SSL to the site?

Thank You

Re: ProBodX and ballistic ball workout

Hey Kyle,

the water workout accomplishes that eccentric strengthening you are talking about. The aquakinetic work is amazing and very effective for full body strengthening because it works your body with resistence in a full range of motion.

Re: ProBodX and ballistic ball workout

Kyle,

SSL BBW is a refinement or evolution of the PBX exercises. Some PBX exercises are not a part of the SSL library while other have different names. Elbows to Ceiling for example is called Elbow Raises in the SSL exercise library. Additionally, the SSL BBW is considered a concise workout whereas the PBX routines were inclusive of virtually all of the exercises and consequently took longer to perform.

I got the PBX book when it came out years ago and still find it a valuable resource. I incorporate many of the exercises in my workouts. The hand routine for example, is something I find really effective and do it often.

They continue to add new SSL exercises almost weekly so stay tuned.

Re: ProBodX and ballistic ball workout

Brad,

Thanks for that, I was mainly wondering if i would be missing something by excluding these exercises, but i'll try them...I also found an article about Steve Finley and doing some exercises on the glute-ham machine, so I'm looking forward to see the exercises SSL has for this--for now, my kettlebells hooked on my heels will do for a GH machine.

Yeah, i gotta look over that hand routine...i'm also gonna try filling one of my empty protein jugs with rice to do some hand work in there.

"Concise" was the word i was looking for...I see in the advancing ProBodX section partners are used to load more in the eccentric phase: does the water workout accomplish this too? haven't made it to the pool yet, but i'm going to fit that in my schedule.
