When I first heard about Sport Science Lab, I was ranked #586 in the world on the ATP World Professional Tennis Tour. At the time, I was unsuccessfully attempting to comeback from a devastating ankle injury I had suffered the previous year while playing in Ecuador. I literally had trouble winning one match on tour for a period of months due to my brain to ankle connection not responding properly. Basically, I lost my speed, first step acceleration and overall fast twitch muscle response.

I have had numerous knee surgeries due to playing soccer for so many years with no knowledge of proper movements. I was thrown on the field and told to go out and play. From years of playing I had developed muscle imbalances which then turned into injuries. When rehabbing from my surgeries no one would diagnose that I had weak hips and feet that couldn't support the movements that soccer players make while playing. So for years I would keep lifting because I thought that that would make me stronger to eliminate my occurring knee injuries. I would go the gym and do squats, dead lifts and other lifts with as much weight as I could possibly do, not knowing that I was only doing more damage to my already damaged knees.

The Sports Science Lab is such a unique program that will change how training is looked at for the future. If you are an athlete, long time fitness seeker or just want to start getting in shape then this is the website and membership you must have. This is the only website I have found that if you have a question about the SSL training or any other methods of training you can post a question and it will be answered. New workouts and exercises are consistently being updated and developed to keep your workouts fresh and new. I have been using the methods and website for a year now and it has been my foundation for training.

As an "adventure" athlete who participates in a variety of outdoor sports, I need to keep my body in optimum balance to perform at my best and avoid injuries. I have tried a number of different, "state-of-the-sport" training programs over the years but nothing feels as good or works as well as SSL. SSL works your body in multiple planes (just like real life) at speed (just like real life) through an appropriate range of motion. As a result you don't simply become strong or fit but athletic.

Using SSL's Slant Boards & Pipes helped me finish my first Marathon (the Rock & Roll in San Diego in May). I had experienced all kinds of foot problems...a bad arch, achilles problems. In fact, these foot problems caused me to drop out of the event in 2008. But the Pipes & Slant Board exercises helped me overcome all my foot problems and complete the race...and at my expected pace.

Beginning with bizarre and unconventional balance and footwork exercises his philosophy holds that like any other solid structure, the athlete too, must begin constructing himself from the ground up. In just one week my balance increased drastically and combined with speed and ballistic exercises for muscle elasticity - I noticed that in just a couple of weeks my strength and speed had also increased rapidly. The area of most noticeable change however, was in my flexibility.
