You don't simply become strong or fit but athletic

As an "adventure" athlete who participates in a variety of outdoor sports, I need to keep my body in optimum balance to perform at my best and avoid injuries. I have tried a number of different, "state-of-the-sport" training programs over the years but nothing feels as good or works as well as SSL. SSL works your body in multiple planes (just like real life) at speed (just like real life) through an appropriate range of motion. As a result you don't simply become strong or fit but athletic.

Recently, life got in the way of my being able to get out on the trails as much as I'd like. Even though I was unable to ride much at all, I kept up with the Ballistic Ballwork, Foundational Footwork, Rowing intervals and Jump Rope workouts. When I was invited to ride a rather technical trail I had never seen before, I initially hesitated but in the end I couldn't say no. Far from feeling less than sharp from a lack of technical riding, I felt in complete control throughout the ride, easily riding sections that my friends walked (no shame in that :)) and powering up steep climbs with ease. It turned out to be one the best days I've spent on a bike in a long time.

Given my lack of riding time, I can attribute my balance, stability, dynamic strength and confidence to the SSL training I had been doing. I am now actively spreading the word to all my outdoor athlete friends about this secret weapon. It takes time to change established habits but once people try it, they never look back.
