The workouts I feel helped me become a more dynamic athlete

Brett Leonard
University of Vermont hockey player

I want to thank you and everyone who helped me during my time at SSL. I have now played in 4 games this season and was my first time playing in almost two years. In the 4 games I have 2 assists, and feel I have been playing better than ever.

I give SSL a lot of credit for my current success. The workouts I feel helped me become a more dynamic athlete and the ball and footwork routines help me maintain during the season. I think possibly the biggest gain I made which I least expected was the mental advantage from my time in California. The strides I made from the workouts instilled a new confidence in me that was lacking from a tough couple of years of fighting to get into the lineup. Most important was your advice about hockey and life. Your knowledge of sports and what it takes to make it to the next level was crucial to my development. I appreciate all your help and hopefully will be back out there again to train again soon.

Update: A letter from Brett after his first full season post Sport Science Lab:

I want to thank Gavin and everyone at Sports Science Lab for their
help over the last year. I play Division 1 college hockey at the
University of Vermont and last season I played in 0 games as a
sophomore. That summer I found out about Sports Science Lab and
Gavin gave me a great opportunity to come out there and train with him
for a month as the Next Level contest winner. His training and
expertise was top of the line and I continued to follow his training
over the rest of the summer and into the season. This year I played in
28 out the teams 37 games and scored 4 points. I was voted by my
teammates as the most improved player and I owe a lot of my success
this past season to Gavin. Going into my senior campaign this year I still
am following closely the training and know that it will help me have
an even better year. Thank you Gavin and everyone at Sports
Science Lab.

Below we have some video of Brett talking to the media after cracking the lineup and scoring some points for his team. We're pulling for you Brett!
