I catapulted up the rankings as I continued training at Sport Science Lab
When I first heard about Sport Science Lab, I was ranked #586 in the
world on the ATP World Professional Tennis Tour. At the time, I was
unsuccessfully attempting to comeback from a devastating ankle injury I
had suffered the previous year while playing in Ecuador. I literally
had trouble winning one match on tour for a period of months due to my
brain to ankle connection not responding properly. Basically, I lost my
speed, first step acceleration and overall fast twitch muscle response.I was introduced to Sport Science Lab by a couple of other tennis
pros and was willing to try anything after conventional therapy and
training failed to fix my problem. I entered a new world of training
and was educated on the proper way to rehabilitate injuries and advance
my fitness and explosive movements. I learned that training like a
dynamic athlete is far different than training like a bodybuilder.
Gavin Macmillan, the founder and head of Sport Science Lab eventually
became my trainer, personal tennis coach and mentor. With his guidance
and within 3 weeks of training at 'The Lab,' I traveled back to Ecuador
to conquer my fears, where I qualified and won my first challenger
event ever. I catapulted up the rankings as I continued training at
Sport Science Lab and reached my career high of #11 in the United
States and #127 in the world.During that span I made a lot of noise on the ATP Tour defeating the
#6 player in the world (Fernando Gonzalez) and taking multiple singles
and doubles titles. Not only did I correct my injuries and imbalances,
I got into incredibly explosive shape and learned the efficiency of
movement for my particular sport.Sport Science Lab is way ahead of its time with their advanced and
unique fitness concepts and I am honored to be a part of their team.
