The Making of an MMA Fighter

All physical activity is distinguished by intensity and duration. MMA matches run for a fixed amount of time, but the intensity varies more than most other sports. MMA training demands a high level of anaerobic capacity. If you are unable to sustain your anaerobic threshold then your body will fail you under the duress of a fight. You also will need an aerobic base as in fighting there is a combination of aerobic/anaerobic capacity.

Your body's energy systems are broken down into a high intensity/short duration system, the medium intensity/medium duration system and the low intensity/long duration system. Fighting incorporates the use of all three of these systems in different ways, therefore in MMA training you must develop all three of these systems adequately.

Sport Science Lab has developed MMA Training Workouts and MMA Training Routines that provide the perfect balance of aerobic/anaerobic activity. Combining these regimens with proper nutrition will yield fantastic results for any mixed martial artist.
